My nine year old son yelled this out as the family was getting ready to go out the other day. I’ll take partial blame for this one, as I have the habit of saying “let’s roll” when I’m trying to get the kids ready to go somewhere. I don’t ever recall throwing trolls into the mix. EC gets credit for that.

Ah yes, nothing like a little tornado warning and spending time in the basement with my eight year old son and (almost) four year old daughter. Contrary to what you might think, EC was not directing this quote at me. No, the target for this one was EC’s sister. I told EC that I didn’t realize his sister was a manager. He looked at me like I was the crazy one and then continued to contemplate (out loud) how he might die in a tornado tonight.

This one came last night as the family was taking a walk around the neighborhood. EC informed his mom and me that he had to pop some popcorn when he got home. He then added that he’d be leaving some milk out overnight and followed it up with the quote.

My eight year old son directed this one at his (almost four year old) sister. Like many of EC’s quotes, this one came spontaneously and unprovoked.

My second grade son wrote this comment at school on a sticky note and put it on a poster that warned if you use email you may blow up your computer. The posters on the wall were made by some of EC’s classmates and everyone had to go around giving feedback via sticky notes.

This was my eight year old son’s comment to himself while playing the LEGO Batman video game. I looked up and asked him what he meant by that. EC sighed audibly and then proceeded to guide Batman towards a bulldozer in order to plow everything and everyone in its path.

My eight year old son’s comment last night at dinner about watching a boy at school on crutches, walk out to the bus on the sidewalk, which had just been coated with a thin sheet of ice. The conversation last night was filled with a number of my son’s comments starting out with “I thought to myself…”. My wife and I decided it’s probably not a bad trend, this keeping his thoughts to himself.
